jam packed weekend

so it was finally time for my so called summer vacation....well we left around 3:30 on friday whenever my mom got home from work...nothing really great to speak of....about halfway there the country really started to open up and the view was really good....i couldn't really look for the last 1.5 hours b/c i was driving but i bet it was just as good...so we arrived in lititz, pa at some place called the warwick inn(it's a really nice place....if u ever go to lititz i would recommend staying there)....so we check in, get unpacked and all and go down to the lobby to talk with the other hartmans from around the country/world....nothing too interesting to speak of, my dad and i walked over to a completely italian speaking pizza place which was just ok...well nothing was too great and i had difficulty sleeping the first night....

saturday i woke up around 8 and limped down to the continental breakfast which just happens to be my favorite meal of the day but i was disappointed to see the lack of quality breakfast food selection. the only positive was the hotel attendant(no i didn't know her name/get her number) but to sum it up she was pretty hot....i ate and then got the passes off of her to go to the community center which was pretty cool, the equipment was a little beat up but fun all in all...then it was time for the horror....at 12 we trekked over to this shitty fire hall where the family reunion was to be held...there was really nothing great to speak of there, seeing as most of the people that were there two years ago opted not to go this time for whatever reason...i did learn some interesting things about my relatives though, we're all descended from this phillip hartman guy who was certainly a badass...i would have to say the highlight of my day came as my uncle dave challenged me to a rematch of a throwing contest(you may remember that in an earlier post- perhaps easter? he and i had a similar competition in bethel park) well this time we took it to the fields of shaefferstown....after three throws we were dead even(you have to remember, he's 49 but he's a world marathon runner making him an incredible all around athlete) and the last throw i probably got it near 300 feet and he had nothing....so he lost the 5 buck bet and that was that, i'm the king of throwing....after we ate the horrible food, in the last 729 days i haven't had a worse meal(last bad one came at this thing two years ago)....after the reunion was over, we headed back to the hotel then to the mini golf courses....bad idea, it was jam packed and after like 13 holes we just decided to give it up...once again hunger set in and i went over to the italian place and got pizza and breadsticks and watched date my mom(wtf???) for the rest of the night...

so today i woke up at like 915 and was delighted to see the attendant back and the lobby empty....i asked her if she wanted to sit down and she said yes but it was only briefly as her manager returned soon enough....well shit happens...i finished breakfast, packed up, and we left...the ride home was uneventful except for the gorgeous country scenery...we got home around 3 and i headed over to nayhouse's because we had a game tonight....after we bullshitted around for awhile we left for the game...i'm not really going to go into detail because it was so bad(we lost 13-3) and i really can say i played terribly, i couldn't hit and i made too many mental errors for supercolt level....maybe i'm a little overwhelmed at this level having not played for so long but i think that i can compete with a little bit of practice....afterwards i went back over to nayhouses and we watched chapelle and did nothing really....quite uneventful night....

well the trip actually had a good effect on me....priorities for the next year are two things, poker and school....we'll worry about the whole girl thing later, truthfully speaking, there are more important things to concern myself with now......also, i'm quite excited as i recieved message today that my cousin mike is moving about 3 minutes from my house....he's about 30 and engaged to this girl kim and he's an overall awesome dude so i'm actually really pumped that he's coming to live in whitehall(he was in like dormont or brookline before) but he and i have already talked about playing poker and some ps2 this summer so it should be fun...

last note, tomorrow i'm playing over cass' house....before any tournament of any size i play for like 3 hours in order to prepare myself for what's to come....it was interesting, i was up and down all session(only with play money) but by the end i was making some good reads and three times three seperate guys caught either a runner or runner-runner to scoop the pot....arg lol, that's part of the game

until next time
